Bridport Litter Pick

The first official litter picking expedition in town at Bridport will take place on 26 June at 5.30. The organisers have taken delivery of their “own” litter picks – 20 for adults and some for children, too. Theyll meet at 5.30 on Wednesday June 26th outside WASTE NOT WANT NOT shop in South Street – in case some of you don’t know it, it’s on your left hand side facing downhill, just near Bucky Doo Square. Lydia at the shop will explain how the “two minute litter clean board” works, much like the ones at the seashore. You can borrow litter picks from it and go out picking any time during shop opening hours.

We’’ll go down to Askers Meadows from the shop just for an hour. Children welcome. I’ll provide all that’s necessary including some gloves – but please bring your own gloves if you can, which will probably fit better. Maybe some of you would like to stay on for a drink in a pub for half an hour afterwards? It would be nice to get to know each other a bit better.

Please note that I cannot yet say when the next beach clean will be because of the sea defence works in West Bay. It will probably be in July but I’ll let you know.
