ONLINE TALK
Join us for a fascinating talk as Professor Colin Divall delves into the closures of the Great Western Railway’s Dorset branch lines to Abbotsbury and Bridport, spanning from 1950 to 1975.
Learn about the Abbotsbury line, a lightly used railway that lost its purpose even before World War II, leading to its inevitable closure in November 1952.
Despite its limited use, the closure process was surprisingly drawn-out.
Now a resident of Bridport, Colin is actively involved with Bridport Museum, assisting with an exhibition opening in August to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Bridport line closure.
