Bus
First Buses have three routes serving Bridport, with two serving West Bay.
Route X51 operates daily, connecting Bridport with Dorchester South, Weymouth, Lyme Regis and Axminster.
Route X52 operates daily, connecting Bridport with West Bay, Burton Bradstock, Abbotsbury, Weymouth, Lulworth Cove and Monkey World. This is (weather permitting) an open-top bus. In inclement weather a normal bus is used.
Route X53 operates daily, connecting Bridport with West Bay, Burton Bradstock, Abbotsbury, Weymouth, Lyme Regis and Axminster.
Route 6 operates Mondays to Fridays between Bridport, Beaminster, Crewkerne and Yeovil.

The nearest train stations to Bridport and West Bay are as follows:
- Maiden Newton (12 miles) – services between Gloucester and Weymouth (including Bristol Temple Meads)
- Crewkerne (12 miles) – services between London Waterloo and Exeter St Davids
- Axminster (13 miles) – services between London Waterloo at Exeter St Davids
- Dorchester West (15 miles) – services between Gloucester and Weymouth (including Bristol Temple Meads)
- Dorchester South (15 miles) – services between London Waterloo and Weymouth
