Strongate Apartment is a wonderful home away from home and I am a returning guest. It’s set in a lovely little village a short drive from Bridport and West Bay and ideally suited to explore the Jurassic Coastline or to just kick back and relax. It’s fully equipped with everything you could need and is spotlessly clean. Tessa the host is very friendly, and helpful. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a lovely place to stay!
We have stayed in Strongate Cottage countless times over the last 25 years and it quickly became one of our most favourite places and feels like a second home. The comfort, peace and fresh air are all wonderful. It’s well equipped and always spotless. Such a beautiful place.
We’ve holidayed at Strongate since 2022. We have stayed in Strongate Cottage 2022 & Strongate Cabin 2023 & 2024.
As you can tell by the above we love staying here. Both the cottage and cabin are fabulous properties.
Strongate Cottage being the traditional Chocolate Box House is just beautiful, the house is cosy and lovely to relax in especially having the door open , looking out to the garden and seeing the chickens around some of them even come up to the door which absolutely delighted my 4 year old at the time.
Strongate Cabin is a fabulous caravan exactly what you need for a little family and having fun staying in it. It has all the amenities you need. The cabin is situated in the Orchard and next to where the Cows live. My son absolutely adores staying at Strongate Cabin, He loves the chicken & ducks, being able to let them out in the morning, see them freely walk around the farm. There is access to a trampoline which he adores too and spends hours on there if we’ve come back from a trip early.
Tessa the host is wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. She is actively around the farm so you will see her most days and always has time for a chat.
Please do not hesitate to book any property of Strongate you will have a fabulous time.

They are both home from homes.
Our kids and dogs love the farm so much and choose Strongate over going abroad every year.
This place gives you all the ingredients (not too far from the coast, animals, peace, nature, fun, campfire) for the perfect break.
Tess really does go the extra mile for guests.

We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderfully peaceful stay at Strongate Cottage in May 2024. The beautiful cottage garden was a delight to relax in. Very comfortable and well appointed Cottage, and good walks for us to enjoy with our 2 border collies from the doorstep. It’s located in a quiet valley, a unique setting, a real working farm and Tessa is the perfect host – very friendly and welcoming, it feels quite a privilege to share time at her family farm. Highly recommend.
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life then a stay at Strongate cottage is for you. After turning off the main road you head down a leafy lane to the farm where you are greeted by a chocolate box thatched cottage with a beautiful cottage garden adorned with flowers and wildlife. The cottage itself has everything you could possibly need and is spotlessly clean. Tess the host is very friendly and is always on hand to offer any helpful advice if needed. We have stayed at the cottage 2 times and this coming year will be our 3rd times so that in itself is a good recommendation. 😊
We love Strongate and have visited several times over the years. We have stayed in the Cottage which is lovely and has everything you need for a peaceful holiday but in recent years we have stayed in the Cabin which is also well appointed and perfect for a family holiday. Strongate is in a peaceful rural setting and is only a short drive to some lovely beaches. It’s our go to place to in Dorset.
We have been staying at Strongate Cottage every year for the last 25 years- definitely a 2nd home for us! We always love our holidays in the cottage. Tess makes our stay very comfortable and is always on hand if needed. The location is excellent for local walks and for drives to Bridport, West Bay, Charmouth and Lyme Regis. It’s such a peaceful location- amazing for star gazing and bird watching, and has a beautiful garden to enjoy too.
