Home Start Wessex

Home- visiting volunteers required to offer friendship and support to young families struggling to cope – parenting experience necessary

By volunteering for Home-Start Wessex, sharing your knowledge and experience, you can transform the lives of young children and their parents in your community.

In return for your time we will provide all the training, guidance and support you need to be effective and make a real difference, whilst also providing you with the opportunity to meet new friends, enhance your wellbeing and develop transferrable skills to take into the workplace.

During the training course you will learn the skills needed to become a volunteer. Training is kept up to date with monthly volunteer meetings where outside speakers provide the latest information on relevant topics.

Volunteers will have the unique and privileged experience of working alongside families with at least one child under 5 and who are learning to cope with the pressures of raising a young family.

We hope that by coming together we can keep families connected and supported during their most difficult times.
