Stories in the Dust: Saturday 19 October at 2pm

STORIES IN THE DUST by Anna Harriott & Iona Johnson The sun beats down on two travellers, journeying across a mysterious land in a contraption they’ve built themselves. They sing, play games, and tell stories inspired by a collection of precious things they’ve gathered from a time gone by. With live music and puppetry, Stories in the Dust is a funny, heartfelt and hopeful eco-fable that takes you to another world. A world where an ancient book guides your way, a drop of rain changes everything and a mighty lion holds its secrets in an old clay pot. Saturday 19 October at 11am & 2pm The Lyric Theatre, 9 Barrack Street, Bridport, DT6 3LX

Tickets: £10.00

The History of the British Seaside in 100 Objects (Thursday 10 October)

Sandcastles, donkeys, piers and sticks of rock. Beach huts, paddle steamers, promenade shelters and ice cream cones. Our modern seaside is the sum of its parts, and all those parts have their history.  Seaside historian Kathryn Ferry will be charting the part these played in a talk entitled The History of the British Seaside in 100 Objects. The talk unpicks our experience of the seaside through the things that make it distinctive. Thursday 10 October at 7.30pm At Bridport Town Hall, East Street, DT6 3LF Ticket Price: £8.00  Tickets are non refundable
