The Life Of Chuck
14th January
The Life of Chuck, based on the novella by award-winning writer Stephen King (The Shining, It, The Green Mile), is directed by Mike Flanagan, known for his acclaimed King adaptations Doctor Sleep and Gerald’s Game.
Widely hailed as one of the best Stephen King films ever made, it premiered to glowing reviews and won the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Told in reverse, the story traces the life of Charles “Chuck” Krantz from his mysterious final days back to his childhood, exploring how every ordinary moment forms part of a vast inner universe. With striking performances and Flanagan’s signature emotional depth, it shifts away from King’s typical horror towards something more profound, a meditation on life, death, and the quiet miracle of existence.
Critics have praised its structure, tenderness, and thought-provoking beauty, calling it “a soft-edged, big-hearted reflection on what it means to be alive.”
All are welcome. Films are £5 per film
Doors open at 7pm, allowing time to grab a drink and snacks at the bar and get comfortable before the film begins at 7:30pm.
