The Bridport Local Food Group is immensely proud to be able to hold a covid-safe  Bridport Food Festival this year and thank the Bridport Town Council for their invaluable help in making this possible.  We also give very special thanks to our loyal sponsors for their continued support; without their financial help the event would not be able to go ahead.

VISITS TO LOCAL PRIMARY SCHOOLS

At the Bridport Food Festival, the Bridport Local Food Group usually provides a free, activity-packed day for young people and their families in the children’s marquee.

This year we have adapted to the restrictions of social distancing to create a special roadshow of pop- up sessions for local primary schools which like all educational settings have been starved of visitors and enrichment during the pandemic.

The afternoon activities will use the Bridport Local Food Group’s ‘Community Cooking Kit’ and locally sourced seasonal ingredients to create delicious salads and dressings to take home and share with the family, plus strawberries, cream and drop scones to eat together as an end of school day treat.  Pupils will also design a poster to advertise and textile bunting to decorate the town’s ‘Plastic Free Picnic’ which is being held on the Millennium Green on 4th July.

The team so far are visiting Bridport St Mary’s C of E Primary School, Bridport Primary School and Burton Bradstock C of E Primary School.
