Cameras capture damage
There was an attempted break in at the compound outside Bridport Town Hall recently, which was caught on the town centre CCTV and a person was arrested soon afterwards.
The case was dealt with by the Bridport Community Justice Panel and the offender apologised for the harm and damage caused, particularly to the mural, and he agreed to undertake voluntary work for the Town Council by way of reparation.
The Community Justice Panels bring an offender together with their victim to see the harm that they have caused and to recognise the consequences of their behaviour. Both victim and offender will agree a course of action to allow the offender to make amends for their behaviour.
