critical jazz albums ever made and telling the stories behind them.

Jon Newey is the leading musical expert on the roots, evolution, and continual appeal of Jazz. As a genre jazz is still evolving, exciting, and always open to interpretation as new artists take on and adapt the riffs and classic soundscapes of bygone eras. Newey, editor in chief at acclaimed Jazzwise magazine leads a panel discussion at Clocktower Records with Kevin Long, opening up discussions on what are considered the most critical jazz albums ever made and the background stories of their appeal. Newey will be playing a world exclusive preview of Mike Taylor’s Quartet ‘Pendulum’ on vinyl reissue.

Plus, indo jazz fusion performance from Kanekt with Ricky Romain on Sitar, John Robertson on Guitar and Karen Wimhurst on Clarinet. The multi-talented experimental sounds from Kanekt beautifully articulate the scope and resonance of jazz.

This evening is a must for all jazz aficionados and those wanting to broaden their knowledge of the genre.
