Allington Arts Weekend: The History of Allington

The focus of the talk will be looking at the history and the people of Allington in the 1830s and 1840s. Putting it into context by looking at what was going on in the world at the time and how people were living during this period. There was a need for a new church as the population was growing rapidly. We’ll look at that population in more detail. Family names, occupations and how much was earned at the time, age groups, size of households, crime and punishment and life expectancy.
