Talk: "The Bridport Railway" at the Salt House, West Bay

This presentation is the story of the Branch railway line, which ran from Maiden Newton to Bridport and West Bay from 1855 until 1975 when it was closed under the ‘Beeching era’.  It will give an insight into how the line came about, its construction and opening and will describe a journey down the line by steam train, showing the line in its heyday and return by diesel.
