TALK: The Art, Meaning and History of Maps

Maps represent and define our sense of space.

They also provide ways to understand the past through their perception of reality.

This talk looks at maps and mapping to show the values and interests the present.

Many concern aspects of eighteenth century British, European and American political, diplomatic and military history but he has also published on the history of the press, cartography, warfare, culture and on the nature and uses of history itself.
