At this year’s From Page to Screen Festival, screenwriter Chris Chibnall selected his ‘Desert Island Scripts‘; a collection of films and screenplays that have influenced and inspired his work and career. This autumn, we invite you to discover these remarkable films in a special screening season inspired by Chris’s choices, celebrating great storytelling and the enduring power of screenwriting on the big, and small, screen.

Is Reggie Perrin going insane, or is it everyone else around him? A disillusioned office slave at Sunshine Desserts, Reginald Perrin is showing signs of cracking up. One day he just disappears, leaving his monotonous life behind him. All that’s left is a neat pile of clothes on the beach.

Relive the wit, charm and unforgettable performances that made the series a British television favourite. Best of all, you’ll see the iconic opening title sequence on the big screen, filmed right here on our own East Beach in West Bay, where Reggie’s famous dash into the sea was shot.
