September heralds the return of Artists of the Jurassic Coast Exhibition, now in its 15th year at the fabulous Eype Centre for the Arts near Bridport.
Artists of the Jurassic Coast 2024 are a group of artists who live, work and are inspired by the stunning Jurassic Coast and surrounding countryside.
The group consists of artist Lynne Grace who will be exhibiting her well loved seascapes and other paintings. Lynne’s use of colour and sense of movement in her painting and collages evokes the Dorset coast in a unique and dynamic way.
As well as Lynne, the well known seascape and landscape painter John Boyd will be exhibiting his paintings which are evocative and atmospheric, a master of capturing the light.
Other painters include Charlotte Miller whose landscapes are a joy to behold; images of the West Dorset landscape, valleys, hills and orchards where she loves to walk – gentle in colour and atmosphere.
Marion Taylor will be showing her well known paintings and collages of Colmer’s Hill and other Dorset landscapes, small ceramic pieces alongside a new range of hand painted ceramic tiles depicting fish, shells, flora and fauna. Giclee prints, cards and signed copies of her West Bay book will be available to buy.
Painter, Barbara Green will also be exhibiting for this year – a versatile artist who works in a variety of media, including printmaking and mixed media.
Potters, Dave Emery and Maggie Cooke will be showing their very different work. Dave Emery’s large scale pieces are for both home and garden, his use of highly coloured glazes and metallic lustres make his work eye catching and unique.
As a contrast, potter Maggie Cooke’s work is of a more gentler hue, visitors will be delighted by her display of nature and seascape inspired pieces, seed heads will be jostling with seabirds in an array of soft, natural colours.
Expect an eclectic mix of artistic styles, colour and a warm welcome.
