Present:

A Community play about Greenham Common. What would make “an ordinary woman” join the protest? .

The domestic conflict, caused by the mother’s dilemma, is sensitively and powerfully depicted, and those scenes are interwoven with the drama at the gates in Greenham. Local women present the Greenham Women, and the songs that echoed around the fences when 30,000 women gathered to “Embrace the Base” in December 1982, bring their commitment to stop the bomb to life. This play, first produced in London during the anti-cruise missile protests at Greenham, is being re-imagined in Bridport at the Lyric Theatre, Barrack Street, DT6 3LX
