Groves Spring Festival

Spring is nearly here, and what better way to welcome the season than by joining us for our Spring Festival.

On Saturday 22^nd March 2025, from 10am to 4pm, join us to celebrate the arrival of spring and the gardening season.

This event is a fun day out for everyone, with a variety of activities tailored for all ages. Whether you’re a gardening enthusiast or just looking for some inspiration, there will be something for everyone. From interactive gardening workshops to fun activites for the kids, we have a packed schedule designed to inspire and entertain.

We also have the wonderful Foxdown Children’s Farm with us for the day with some lambs, goats and you can even give their rabbits and guinea pigs a cuddle! With Strawberry and facepainting all in the Kid’s area, we have got lots to keep the little ones entertained.

Aleksandra’s Chocolate Shop are with us on the day running Children’s workshops – each child will make a chocolate love heart which they will be able to decorate with a selection of treats including marshmallows, chocolate drops, sprinkles and much more. Perfect for a Mother’s Day gift. £12 per child – book on our website – limited spaces available

We have informative talks from our own experts Becky and Ben who will be discussing Herbs and Dahlias.

We are pleased to welcome Dominic Cleverdon who is a professional, RHS exhibitor, Orchid Grower. He will be on hand to discuss how to care and get the best out of your beautiful orchid plants.

11am – In the canopy – Healthy Herbs – Becky will take you through all that you need to know to get your herb garden kick started again this spring to give you a bumper crop all through the summer.

1:30pm – In the canopy – Growing Orchids – Dominic will be discussing the care of Orchids, repotting, prevention of pests and a few tips and tricks from a professional grower.

3pm – In the canopy – Dazzling Dahlias – Always wanted to grow dahlias but not sure where to start? Come along and join Ben – our dahlia guru who will take you through his top tips for a dazzling dahlia display.

No need to book, the plant talks are free of charge – just turn up and find the talks in our new canopy area. 

To add to this, we have picked stall holders selling their gardening products. You will find the following stall holders at our event;

Dorset Nectar – Producers of award-winning artisan ciders, apple juices and vinegars using the finest Dorset grown produce.

Dark Bear – mixing up cocktails by the pond. You can also purchase their delicious cocktails to take home. 

Fungimental – UK gourmet and medicinal mushroom producer, specializing in grow kits, fresh mushrooms and medicinal mushroom products. Grown and harvested in Dorset.   

Metal Petals – Metal flowers and garden sculptures handmade by John. Based in Bridport.

Abbey Farm Flowers – Seasonal flowers from the heart of Abbotsbury. PYO, bunches & bouquets, plants and seeds. 

Noble Badger – Offering a range of Gardening Gloves and Accessories. High quality products at affordable prices. Based near Bridport. 

Sea Spring Seeds – Sea Spring Seeds sells seeds of reliable, productive and good tasting vegetable varieties. It is best known for its superb range of chilli seeds. 

Timber & Black – Beautiful, hand-made designs for gardens in the Westcountry & Home Counties. 

Rocket Gro – Rocketgro will be on hand during the event to discuss their premium quality peat free & chemical free composts, soil improvers and liquid plant feed and advise what is best for your plants.  

Little Groves – Our small, sister nursery nestled amongst a landscaped garden in Beaminster, Dorset. Specialising in herbs. 

Weldmar Hospice Care – Stampede by the Sea – In spring 2025, our local area will be transformed into a giant art trail, which will involve the whole community. The aim is to raise vital funds for Weldmar Hospicarecare, as well as awareness of our services in the area. You will see beautifully painted elephants popping up in Bridport, West Bay and Lyme Regis. We are excited that Groves are having three elephants within our garden centre. 

There will also be live music and cocktails to enjoy by the pond.
