Event Details
Gary Hay enacts David Hare’s dramatic account of his travels through Israel and Palestine in 1997, from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem to Gaza and Ramallah. The drama draws together very different voices of public and private figures and exposes the passions and opinions that run deep throughout the region. Can art capture those passions and reflect them in a meaningful way?
Despite being written almost 30 years ago, the play’s central themes remain as vivid and relevant today as they were in 1997. It provides a unique insight into the deeply felt emotions of those on all sides of those involved in the conflict – a must for anyone seeking to understand the complexities of the region.
This performance is acted and directed by the actor Gary Hay and produced by Margie Barbour. The production is supported by a local choir, led by Jane Silver Corren, singing Israeli, Palestinian and Christian songs in Hebrew, Arabic and Latin. The production is raising funds for the charities Oasis of Peace and The Chapel in the Garden.
This was a sell out in Bridport on Friday, 2nd October 2026
Tickets are still available for the performance at Dorchester on Sunday 04 October 2026.
