Shibori Resist Dyeing

Workshop/ Course Description

Monday 4th August 10 am – 1pm

Introduction to Shibori Resist Dyeing using Natural Indigo Dye This is a fun introduction to Shibori pattern design.

You will learn to use simple sewing techniques and how to bind, fold, clamp and wrap fabric in many ways to create your own unique designs. If you wish you can bring along items that are white, pale or natural coloured made from natural fibres – fabric, clothes, pillowcases etc in cotton or linen work best. Make sure these have been washed thoroughly, even if they are new, to remove any dressing present in the fibres.

All equipment will be provided including disposable gloves. Please bring an apron to wear or wear old clothes/shoes in case of any indigo spills or splashes.

£40 plus £10 for materials (to be confirmed)
