Printing on Fabric with Lino with Sarah Robinson

Learn the art of making a beautiful decorative linocut design to transfer onto a natural linen fabric patch which you can use in sewing projects such as visible mending or patchwork.

In this fun and creative workshop you’ll get to choose a design and will then be shown how to transfer it onto a piece of lino. The carving and inking of the block will be clearly demonstrated and, finally, you’ll print your carved design onto a fabric patch.

Tools and materials will be provided for use on the day, including traditional printmakers’ lino, carving tools, a selection of inks and some patches of linen.

You’ll also be able to take your carved lino block home to use time and time again. Everyone will also have an information sheet to take home with details on suppliers for materials and instructions for heat setting your fabric should you wish to continue your lino.
