HOPTalks: How Eco-Tourism Saved Wild Africa

04dec7:00 PMHOPTalks: How Eco-Tourism Saved Wild AfricaWith Brian Jackman

Event Details

With Brian Jackman

“Who will speak up for lions when my voice is carried away on the wind?”

And that is what Brian has tried to do, by encouraging readers to go on safari, because the millions of dollars generated by eco-tourism are the economic,
bedrock of Africa’s world-famous national parks. And without them, not even the Serengeti could survive for long.

Brian is an award-winning journalist and author (The Marsh Lions and West With the Light) with a lifelong passion for travel and is best-known as Britain’s foremost writer on African wildlife safaris, having spent more than three years in total under canvas in the African bush. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, an ambassador for Tusk Trust and a former trustee of the George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trust.
