HEREWEAR is a Europe-wide research project, developing new types of textile fibre from bio-based and agricultural by-products, such as seaweed, manure and straw. Alongside technological innovation, the research team aim to help local communities develop plans for local, circular textiles production.

The UK partners will be leading a workshop in Bridport for anyone interested in driving forward local textile production.

The event will be an opportunity to:

– Hear about some of the latest developments in circular and sustainable textiles

– Discuss how we could apply some of these ideas in Bridport and West Dorset

– Discuss emerging plans for re-establishing hemp and flax production

– Experiment in a hands-on way with examples of bio-based textiles
