Event Details

The film follows Helen after her father’s sudden death, as she retreats from her academic and social life and immerses herself in training a goshawk named Mabel. The process is portrayed as both physically exhausting and emotionally consuming, drawing her into an intense, solitary relationship with the hawk and the wild instincts it embodies.  It concludes with her slow re-engagement with the human world, coming to recognise that grief cannot be fully mastered but must be integrated into a renewed sense of self.

It received generally positive reviews, currently sitting at 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.  Critics particularly praise Claire Foy’s performance. It was released in UK cinemas in January 2026.

Doors open at 7pm, allowing time to grab a drink and snacks at the bar and get comfortable.
