Bridport’s definitive film festival celebrating the art of literary adaptation.

This year’s guest curator will be Screenwriter and Director, Rebecca Lenkiewicz.

Jonathan Glazer’s film, was adapted from the novel by Martin Amis whose main character was based on the real-life commandant of Auschwitz Rudolph Hoss. Set outside the camp in a seemingly idyllic house and garden the horrors taking place just over the walls are never seen but heard. The film concentrates instead on the Hoss family’s daily life but the soundtrack includes some extraordinary non-music by Mica Levi with several reviewers suggesting that these sound sessions evoke precisely the horrors Glazer has decided not shown on the screen…

The Zone of Interest has won 3 BAFTA’s at this year’s awards including Outstanding British Film. It also won the Grand Prix at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
