Bridport’s definitive film festival celebrating the art of literary adaptation.

This year’s guest curator will be Screenwriter and Director, Rebecca Lenkiewicz.

METROPOLIS WITH LIVE SOUNDTRACK by PALOOKA 5

Fritz Lang’s German expressionist science-fiction silent classic which sees Metropolis as a home to a Utopian society where its wealthy residents live a carefree life. One of those is Freder Fredersen. One day, he spots a beautiful woman with a group of children, she and the children quickly disappear. Trying to follow her, he is horrified to find an underground world of workers who apparently run the machinery that keeps the Utopian world above ground functioning. What can Freder do to stop this horror…

This screening of Metropolis will be accompanied by a live soundtrack provided by ‘sci fi surf’ band Palooka 5. 

To open the evening there will be a screening of Georges Méliès 1902 science fiction adventure Impossible Voyage with a ‘live’ DJ soundtrack from Lee Grimshaw head of the Spinout Nuggets Record. label.
