Event Details

This beautifully balanced programme traces a century of violin music through five distinctive voices — from Beethoven’s youthful brilliance to Weinberg’s haunting post-war lyricism — exploring the power of the violin and the piano to sing, to dance, and to speak with human intimacy.
Japanese violinist Coco Tomita first gained prominence as winner of the Strings Category at BBC Young Musician 2020. Her debut album Origins (Orchid Classics) earned widespread acclaim from The Strad, Gramophone, BBC Music Magazine, and The Guardian, and was chosen as Apple’s Disc of the Month in April 2022, amassing over 5.5 million streams. Her second album, Echoes, was released in 2024.
Coco performs extensively across the UK with pianist Simon Callaghan, with debuts at Saffron Hall and Bechstein Hall, and recent appearances at the Harrogate International Festival, St George’s Bristol, and Dubai Opera.
