This year at Symondsbury Estate, we’re doing Christmas a little differently – and you’re invited to be part of the magic. Instead of our traditional three-day market, we’re hosting two unique events designed to spark joy, inspire your Christmas shopping, and fill your festive calendar with heartwarming experiences.

Merry & Bright
Friday 5th December

Friday 5th December (4pm–8pm) kicks off with our Community Christmas Evening – a joyful gathering for all the family. Join us under the glow of a towering Christmas tree in beautiful Manor Yard as we come together to sing carols and soak up the festive spirit. Enjoy performances from the uplifting Rock Choir and a local school choir, while Santa welcomes visitors to his enchanting grotto in support of Bridport Young Performers. Watch as Tracy Fox, our talented in-house florist, demonstrates how to create stunning table decorations for your Christmas celebrations. With live music, festive cheer, late-night shopping, and twinkling lights all around, it’s the perfect way to start the season.

An Artisan Christmas
Saturday 6th December

Saturday 6th December (10am–4pm) brings a brand-new Festive Fête – an intimate and carefully curated event bursting with Christmas inspiration. Discover 19 handpicked local makers and artisans offering gorgeous gifts, from jewellery and ceramics to candles, crafts, and delicious treats.

Santa will be back, and we’ll be welcoming local artist Caroline Parrott who’ll be running children’s workshops to create whimsical, nature-inspired fairies and imps for your tree.

Don’t miss our special Christmas Literary Fair in the Visitor Centre bookshop, featuring talks and signings from acclaimed authors of beloved nature and cookery books. Throughout the day, there will be live music, festive workshops, and plenty of opportunities to eat, drink, and be merry.
