The waltz was the world’s first genuinely global dance craze. While the intimacy of the dance may have been one reason for its popularity, the music written by the Strauss family and others has undoubtedly sustained its heyday to this day.
David Juritz leads the Festival Players in the Overture from Die Fledermaus, Thunder and Lightning, and the Blue Danube with Milly Forrest singing the Laughing Song and Lehar’s gorgeous Vilja.
