Beaminster Festival Spring Concert - Pocket Sinfonia

Mozart’s Overture to Magic Flute, Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night’s Dream Suite, and Grieg’s Holberg Suite are full of tunes you’ll recognise and is a perfect uplifting programme for a Spring Concert.

You can imagine that with only four instruments playing music written for an orchestra, they each have an awful lot of notes to play!

Pocket Sinfonia, a quartet of flute, violin, cello and piano specialise in playing transcriptions like these and obviously love every minute.

To emulate this feeling of chamber music, the seating is in the round, surrounding the performers.
