The University of the Third Age is an independent national institution with local branches throughout the country. It aims to provide opportunities for those who are retired, semi-retired or no longer in regular employment to pursue and share skills, interests, knowledge and hobbies with each other.
We are a relatively new but very popular and successful U3A, launched in January 2010. Main meetings are held at 2.00 pm on the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Bridport United Church Hall when we listen to, and question, a guest speaker. New members are very welcome to join us. We are an active and friendly group offering a variety of educational, creative and leisure activities, with more than 50 groups including English Literature, Maths for Fun, Bird Watching, Poetry for Pleasure, Bridge, Italian, Music-making, Singing, Needlecraft, Book Groups and more.
The full Annual Membership fee is £20 per person, and visitors are always welcome to join us with a view to sampling the proceedings before deciding if the U3A is for them.
