Bridport’s amateur company Encore Players present Hitchcock’s classic spy thriller, hilariously adapted for the stage.
In 1935 a young Alfred Hitchcock enjoyed enormous success with his big screen adaptation of John Buchan’s novel. Decades later, Patrick Barlow transformed it in to an Olivier and Tony Award-winning smash hit comedy. First the West End and Broadway, The 39 Steps is now set to conquer Bridport!
Follow the courageous adventures of our dashing hero. Richard Hannay, complete with stiff-upper-lip and British gung-ho as he encounters dastardly murderers, double-crossing secret agents and, of course, devastatingly beautiful women.
This wonderfully inventive and gripping comedy thriller features eight fearless actors, playing 139 roles in 100 minutes of fast-paced fun and thrilling action.
