CONGRATULATIONS ERIC BENNET

Congratulations Eric Bennet is a new piece of writing from local playwright Matt Lockett. The play is set to be the debut performance of emerging theatre company Vivid Ember Theatre which hopes to take locally made theatre across the county and beyond! Telling new stories and ones rooted in Dorset.

When Eric Bennet meets Hope at the local A&E waiting room it’s clear there is an instant chemistry between the two. Before anything can develop, Eric is congratulated on the birth of his daughter! The newly made young parent, Eric, wishes he could have explained the complicated situation of having a child with his ex-partner, which doesn’t make it easy to find love. Luckily for him, the two cross paths again sometime later. Winning Hope over, she agrees to meet him for coffee. However, met with the disapproval of their friends, family and ex-partners the pair face it all to fight for their new age romance. Will they defy the odds and show the world we don’t have to fit society’s picture of a ‘perfect life’? Does Hope spring eternal? Find out in this new piece of writing.
