Bud Powell was born in 1924 just a few weeks before Gabriel Fauré passed away in the same year. After his permit to work in New York clubs was revoked, Powell moved to Paris. David Gordon leads his colleagues in an intriguing exploration of the musical contrasts and resonances between these two piano prodigie.
