Onion Jack Tour 2nd Edition

20th – 22nd October 2017

Bridport West Bay Harbour

Like the 1st edition in 2015, the 2nd Onion Jack Tour promises you an experiential fusion of past, present and future.

This is an opportunity to showcase a profession which has become a kind of myth for many, but also to promote traditional products, harvested and grown with passion in Brittany. A Breton Market will be set up with many delicacies; stall selling pink onions, carrots grown in sand, traditional shallots. cheeses from the Monts d’Arree, Saint-Pol-de Leon Atrichokes, Noirmoutier organisic salt, Roscoff seaweeds, Breton beers & ciders and a selection of the best from Morlaix Bay.

The ships will sail from Roscoff to the UK on 8th October and will arrive on Thursday 19th. The ships will be loaded with around 4 tonnes of goods and food produce!

A parade of festivities will be taking place before the ships departure, and because a party without music is like a Johnny with no onion (and that can’t happen), the Onion Jack party spirit will be supported by accompanying artists, including musicians, acrobats and more! Program is yet to be confirmed.

Friday 20th October marks the official opening of the Onion Jack Tour! Starting at 5pm, there will be music and entertainment which will come to a close at 10pm.

On Saturday 21st October, the market will be open alongside entertainment in Bucky-Doo Square. This will open to the public from 10am – 10pm!

On Sunday 22nd October at 10am, there will be a procession around West Bay with market stalls and entertainment until 5pm!

An event that is quite simply aiming to bring many great tastes of Brittany to Great Britain!
