Clocktower Records: The Rise and Fall of The Clash Redux & Vive Le Punk | Oxenburys Yard | Saturday 08 August

Clocktower Records is holding a screening on August 8th showcasing two independent films about the evolution of  Punk in Oxenburys Yard Bridport.

 These rare and influential films will be a perfect compliment to Adrian Boot’s Iconic photography exhibition ‘ Punk Bridport’ at the Allsop Gallery in Bridport Arts Centre.

Film:  The Rise and Fall of The Clash Redux  (doors 3.30 pm / film starts 4pm )

The Rise And Fall Of The Clash features previously unseen footage of the band at work and at play, interviews with the individual band members and with those who knew them well, and traces the downward trajectory of a band who were at one point “the biggest band in the world. Originally released in 2012, this film written by Danny Garcia shows just how influential the Clash were to certain members of society and the reasons and rivalries which led them to eventually self destruct.

Film: Vive Le Punk (doors 7pm / film starts 7.30pm)

50 years after the Punk Explosion, this documentary follows four bands that are still active today (Sham 69, 999, Ruts DC and The Boys) Featuring intimate band interviews, the film features a powerhouse lineup of Punk luminaries with rare archival footage, explosive live performances, and an unflinching look at the punk ethos in today’s world.
