Story Cafe’s third presentation at The Lyric is The Green Road, by Amy Douglas and Lucy Wells.
Two parallel worlds, tangled yet separate. Only the green road bridges the gap. This is a story of time shifts, bold rescues, accordion music and fairies. There have always been whispers of the other world and the dangers of crossing its borders, but are they more than stories? Perilous and beautiful, mysterious and alluring, the Green Road beckons.
Amy Douglas is a gossip, wordsmith and lover of the spoken word in all its forms. A storyteller of integrity, wit and subtle humour, she has been an integral part of the re-emergence of storytelling in Shropshire in particular and Britain in general. Amy is also an award-winning author, stunning ballad-singer and a passionate advocate for spoken word storytelling.
Lucy Wells is a musician, performer and artist. The gold thread of narrative runs bright through all her multi-faceted work. She has a deep-rooted love of the natural world and sees traditional story as the heartbeat of our connection with the world around us. Lucy is a Tai Chi practitioner, a plant spirit medicine healer and an initiated Fire keeper with the Sacred Fire community.
