MORE INFORMATION

Join us for a film screening of this award-winning short film about European Bison.

Hosted by West Dorset Wilding, ZUBR: Here Be Giants is an award-winning independent short documentary that explores the remarkable role of European bison in restoring and sustaining natural ecosystems.

Following UK bison ranger Donovan Wright on a journey to Poland’s ancient BiaÅ‚owieża Forest, the film reveals how the iconic bison (żubr) acts as a powerful ecosystem engineer, shaping landscapes and supporting biodiversity.

We are delighted to be joined by UK Bison specialist Paul Whitfield who will be at the event to talk more about these incredible animals.

Hosted by Sam Rose, our Executive Director, the evening will show the documentary, followed by a talk and hosted Q&A with Paul. The film offers a compelling and hopeful vision for rewilding in Britain – challenging perceptions of large wild species and inspiring audiences to imagine a future where people and wildlife can thrive together as part of a shared, living landscape.

Paul is Director General of the Wildwood Trust (https://www.wildwoodtrust.org/), the organisation who first brought Bison back to the UK at Wilder Blean in Kent, working with Kent Wildlife Trust. We are delighted that he is able to join us and this is a rare opportunity to hear from him in person.

Tickets are £10 with all proceeds from the event going to support the work of West Dorset Wilding.
