Brittany comes to West Bay! 20th – 22nd October 2017
Enjoy a great Breton weekend with local produce, live music and entertainment for all the family. Meet the Real Onion Johnnies from Roscoff!
Who are the Johnnies?
Recognisable by their striped Breton T-Shirts, berets and bicycles, Roscoff farmers have been crossing the channel for nearly 200 years to sell their pink onions, garlic and other local produce in shops and on street corners through out the United Kingdom.
What is Onion Jack?
They are a benevolent association comprising onion growers (the Johnnies), artist and seafarers, whose aim is to foster cross-channel entente cordiale and recognise this unique Breton profession. Their slogan: Onion and Rock’n’Roll sailing circus.
The Onion Jack Tour is a fun play on words understoon by both French and English alike, and celebrates almost 200 years of cultural exchange!
