Come and join us in our third year of Bridport Folk Festival! With around 70 acts, 26 dance sides, 2 headline concerts, ceilidhs and dances, workshops, sessions, storytelling, kids area and food and artisan stalls.
Friday night opens with a concert, Julie Felix and festival patron Reg Meuross will be on stage at The Arts Centre, Saturday nights concert is Bristol based Karsilama and Mark Radcliffes band – Fine Lines.
We will have outdoor stages, 2 on Millennium Green, one in Borough Gardens and one in Buckydoo Square with folk artists from near and far. Millennium Green will hold a fantastic children’s area with lots going on so you can relax to some music while the children play.
Street food will be available all around the town, as will the amazing restaurants, bars, and cafes around Bridport where you can eat and maybe join in a music session in a cosy pub.
This year we have some fantastic workshops and demonstrations lined up. French dancing, English stepping, line dancing, learn a border dance with Wyld Morris or come and learn to jive! There will also be an exhibition of dances with a Dorset link with a workshop to follow. Musically you can come and have a go at vocal harmony, the concertina, hammer dulcimer, fiddle and guitar, slide guitar and song writing with Reg Meuross, we also have a luthier coming to talk about his work.
There will be several dances, social dancing, a family dance a ceilidh and a street ceilidh, and as mentioned above some French dancing.
