LAUREN ST JOHN – Kat Wolfe Investigates
BridLitKids is delighted to welcome Lauren St. John, one of the most imaginative story-tellers, to talk about her latest book: Kat Wolfe Investigates – the first in a new series of stories set on our very own Jurassic Coastline. Twelve year old Kat Wolfe loves her new home set in idyllic Bluebell Bay, especially since it comes with a resident wildcat! But when she starts a pet sitting service for pocket money, she finds that beneath the town’s perfect surface there are some dark and dangerous secrets for her to investigate.
Lauren grew up on a farm and game reserve in Zimbabwe and this led her to become a passionate conservationist.
This is an exciting opportunity for children to hear Lauren talk about her work and to answer questions against the backdrop of the Dorset landscape which so inspired her as well as the tales of animals of all kinds in Africa.
10.00am – 11.00am
The Lyric Theatre, Barrack Street
KATE WAKELING – Poetry to Please Children
Award winning poet, Kate Wakeling debut collection of children’s poetry Moon Juice was described by The Sunday Times as “clever, funny, inspiring.” This year, we are delighted that Kate is bringing new and exciting poetry to BridLitKids. She will introduce Skig, the warrior who is more of a worrier, and Rita, the world’s most ferocious pirate, and Demon Mouth who is about to eat the dog!
This is a brilliant opportunity for interactive poetry reading and an opportunity for children to write a brand new poem with Kate about a very peculiar machine!
