We are affiliated to the National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts Society. We hold monthly meetings from September to June with Association approved lecturers.

West Dorset Decorative & Fine Arts Society was set up in 1988 by Pam Charlton who had been an early member of the Chiltern Antiques Group founded by Patricia Fay in 1966, the forerunner of NADFAS.

Meetings were originally held at West Meads Hotel, moving to Bridport Arts Centre when the hotel was demolished, and subsequently to our present venue at Highlands End.  With ample parking space, wonderful views over Bridport and the coast, a unique Lunch Club enabling members to get to know each other before lectures, the move has been an outstanding success.

Throughout the season the Committee organises full day outings to exhibitions and places of particular interest. An occasional longer trip, with transport and hotel bookings, is also organised if there is sufficient interest. In the past, groups have been to Wales and Istanbul.

We also hold Special Interest Days when a specific area of fine or decorative art is studied in depth. These are particularly relaxed and enjoyable days in a magnificent setting with lunch and refreshments included.
