Flourish is Popping Up Near You

A local charity is organising an open day so that you can find out how their Bridport Flourish Pop-up cafes can support and inspire you to improve your health and wellbeing. “Flourish” is EDP Drug & Alcohol Services’ (EDP) new initiative to help people take control of their health and wellbeing by offering practical support both in communities and online. In Bridport they are offering Pop-up cafes every Friday from 11.30am-2.30pm at 5 Downes Street and on Friday 13th May they want to invite you to come along to their open day so that you can find out more. Farmacy Juice Bar will be giving juicing demonstrations with free tasters for everyone that attends.

The Pop-up cafes provide a friendly and positive space for you to come along and enjoy free health and wellbeing taster sessions and demonstrations. Each week there will be a different theme featuring a range of demonstrations such as how to grow your own salads, how to make your own raw food bar and Yoga for beginners. Volunteer Health Champions will be on hand to provide friendly advice about the wellbeing topics which interest you. The schedule for May can been seen at http://www.edp.org.uk/flourish/mays-flourish-pop-up-cafe/.

As well as the practical support which Flourish cafes will offer, EDP’s Flourish blog www.edp.org.uk/flourish also offers a variety of interesting posts relating to food, fitness and wellbeing. For example, their monthly “Flourish loves” posts tell our readers who is inspiring us this month, which lifestyle apps are the most useful and the best ways to get outside and enjoy being active in your local area.

Flourish cafes are based at The Front Room, 5 Downes Street in Bridport but they will also pop up in different local community spaces once a month, so keep your eyes peeled on the Flourish blog for updates about locations and weekly themes!
